ABSTRACT

Pneumatic systems are systems mainly for generating, controlling, applying smoothness, effective power or work done from the compressed air inorder to regulate or drive the machines. Control systems that transmit power by means of fluid flow are divided into two classifications and pneumatic system is one among them.
It deals with the basic physical principle of compressed air and its applications. Through this paper I would like to elaborate the application of the elements and its working principles, compressed air production and preparation, pneumatic working elements like directional control valves, pressure and flow control valves etc. Relation of pneumatics with electronic systems like logical gate is studied.

Green Engine

ABSTRACT

The green engine is one of the most interesting discoveries of the new millennium. It has got some unique features that were used for the first time in the making of engines. This engine is a piston less one with features like sequential variable compression ratio, direct air intake, direct fuel injection, multi-fuel usage etc. The efficiency of this engine is high when compared to the contemporary engines and also the exhaust emissions are near zero. The significance of the engine lies in the efficiency when the present world conditions of limited resources of energy are considered. Prototypes of the engine have been developed. Generators have been produced with the green engine.

Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)

ABSTRACT

As the U.S. government enacts new regulations for automotive fuel economy and emissions, the continuously variable transmission, or CVT, continues to emerge as a key technology for improving the fuel efficiency of automobiles with internal combustion (IC) engines. CVTs use infinitely adjustable drive ratios instead of discrete gears to attain optimal engine performance. Since the engine always runs at the most efficient number of revolutions per minute for a given vehicle speed, CVT-equipped vehicles attain better gas mileage and acceleration than cars with traditional transmissions.
CVTs are not new to the automotive world, but their torque capabilities and reliability have been limited in the past. New developments in gear reduction and manufacturing have led to ever-more-robust CVTs, which in turn allows them to be used in more diverse automotive applications. CVTs are also being developed in conjunction with hybrid electric vehicles. As CVT development continues, costs will be reduced further and performance will continue to increase, which in turn makes further development and application of CVT technology desirable.
This paper evaluates the current state of CVTs and upcoming research and development, set in the context of past development and problems traditionally associated with CVTs. The underlying theories and mechanisms are also discussed.

Air powered cars

ABSTRACT

This seminar is to explain the working of air powered cars. These type of cars will run on compressed air instead of gasoline .The car is powered by a two cylinder compressed air engine.
The air powered car is also called as a low pollution or zero pollution cars. Since the car runs on compressed air it is environmentally friendly.

Control of point of operation hazards

ABSTRACT

The seminar entitled “Control of point of operation hazards”, emphasizes on the usage of a wide variety of devices to protect against the inherent hazards that are present, when the material to be worked on is fed into the machine.
The elimination of hazards from shafting, belting, gearing and other risks is a problem of completely guarding the hazardous condition. This generally requires that the point of hazard be substantially enclosed, screened, barricaded or otherwise protected so that persons working cannot inadvertently does not come in contact with the danger point. The ideal means for protecting machine operators from point of operation hazards would be to design the machine so that its operation points are inaccessible to the operator.

Space Shuttles and its Advancements

ABSTRACT

In its 23 year history, the NASA space shuttle program has seen exhilarating highs and devastating lows. The fleet has taken astronauts on dozens of successful missions, resulting in immeasurable scientific gains.  But this success has had a serious cost. In 1986, the challenger exploded during launch procedures, and on February 1st of 2003, the Columbia broke up during re-entry over Texas.
